A number of interesting events related to Bulgaria and Bulgarian culture will take place in Bratislava on October 11. “We hope that the information will be useful for everyone who would like to immerse themselves in Bulgarian culture and art this weekend,” wrote Denitsa Sekulicka, the chairwoman of the Bulgarian Cultural Union, on its Facebook page.

The 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Union of Slovaks in Bulgaria will be celebrated. Students from the Bulgarian Secondary School “Hristo Botev” will also participate in the festive program.

At 3:00 p.m., the “Return to Pezinok” folklore festival will begin at the Cultural Center “Pezinok”, with special guests being dancers from the Sofia folklore ensemble “Zdravets”.

The third event related to Bulgaria is the international poetry festival PARS ARTEM 2025, which will take place at the City Library. Among the guests from Bulgaria will be the poet Dimana Ivanova and twriter Daniela Raicheva.

The Bulgarian Cultural Union in Bratislava was founded in 2002 as the Union of Bulgarians and their friends in Slovakia “Hristo Botev”, BTA recalls. The association’s activities are aimed at affirming the national identity of Bulgarians and their families in Slovakia, preserving Bulgarian folk customs and folklore traditions and passing them on to future generations. The official printed organ of the Bulgarian Cultural Union is the bilingual magazine “Sanarodnik”, published four times a year.
