The Bulgarian Cultural Institute “Dom Wittgenstein” in Vienna presents the first edition of the “Day of Architecture” series. The event is dedicated to the mutual ties between Austria and Bulgaria in architectural modernism, the Institute announced on Facebook.

The forum is part of the preparation for the 100th anniversary of “Dom Wittgenstein” and will take place on October 14.

The focus of the architectural event is on the 1920s – the time when “Dom Wittgenstein” was designed and built, but also the period in which a number of Bulgarian architects received their education in Vienna, later contributing to the construction of modern Bulgaria.

The event begins with a tour of the “Wittgenstein House”. The afternoon walk through Vienna includes a visit to emblematic buildings designed by the teachers of Bulgarian architects, including the first Viennese “skyscraper”, as well as places related to the life of Bulgarian architecture students in the city.

The program also offers lectures, a film screening, a piano recital, a book presentation and discussion panels, the Cultural Institute informs.
