Frol and Frosia are the newest residents of the Bear Sanctuary Belitsa, according to the Four Paws Foundation, which runs the bear sanctuary in cooperation with Foundation Brigitte Bardot. The seven-year-old Frol and Frosia come from Bear Sanctuary Domazhyr (Ukraine).

The brown bears came to Bear Sanctuary Domazhyr in 2020. Earlier, they were used as an attraction for tourists near a hotel in Skole, Lviv region. Bear Sanctuary Domazhyr had reached its full capacity of 31 bears, so the Ukrainian animals were relocated to Bulgaria. To reach the Bear Sanctuary Belitsa, the bears traveled 40 hours through Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. They’re in excellent health, getting regular vet checks and living a peaceful life, the Four Paws organization stated. Frol and Frosia are the youngest among the 17 residents of the Bear Sanctuary Belitsa.
