Integrity officers proposed to fight corruption in state-owned companies

Public enterprises are planning to introduce a corruption risk management system. They will have an integrity officer, amendments to the Public Enterprises Act adopted at first reading provide for. The amendments submitted by GERB-SDS were approved with 105 votes "for", 42 "against" and 19 "abstentions".

The bill introduces an obligation to implement corruption risk management systems in state-owned enterprises in implementation of a recommendation by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and as part of the measures provided for in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Corruption risk management systems cover the selection of senior officials, measures to prevent conflicts of interest, a methodology for assessing and controlling corruption risks, and training in ethics and integrity for employees.
