"Yes, Bulgaria" political party defines Budget 2026 as an "economic tsunami"

"Yes, Bulgaria" party (part of "Democratic Bulgaria") have defined the budget for next year as an "economic tsunami". MP Ivaylo Mirchev was firm that the pary will oppose it when the project comes up for discussion in parliament.

"Yesterday we were presented with the worst budget since the time of PM Zhan Videnov - in the last 30 years, the budget has never represented such an economic tsunami for the economy, never has the state's gun been aimed at businesses in this way. In his words, Bulgaria is currently on its way to following Romania, but with certain differences.

"Romania was very slow to enter this scenario for 10 years. "Bulgaria is on its way to entering the Romanian scenario in three or four years, and in three or four years we will be forced to return to the winter of 1997, when we were cutting expenses very seriously," commented Mirchev.

Martin Dimitrov from the party pointed out that the ruling party has not kept its promise not to raise taxes and gave as an example the double increase in the "dividend tax" and the increase in the social security contribution.

"Yes, Bulgaria" members define as scandalous the introduction from January 1 next year of an obligation for all commercial establishments to use only state-approved software - a measure that was canceled in 2020, as it creates an additional burden for businesses.
