Bulgaria’s Premier Rosen Zhelyazkov and Ukrainie’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed energy security in the region and opportunities to strengthen cooperation in this area. The two held a phone conversation on November 6. They also discussed security, with a focus on the Black Sea, and the possibilities offered by the EU’s financial instrument Security Action for Europe (SAFE), the Bulgarian government said on Facebook.

''We talked about defense cooperation and projects we can work on together. The European Union’s SAFE instrument provides many opportunities for this, and I proposed to the Prime Minister joint production projects, including those aimed at enhancing security in the Black Sea. There are concrete decisions, and we will certainly implement them'', President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on Facebook.
