Bulgarian Parliament adopts the amendments regarding Lukoil's special manager

The National Assembly adopted today, at first and second reading, legislative amendments that expand the powers of the special manager of the Lukoil refinery. The texts were adopted with the votes of the parliamentary majority formations GERB-SDS, "DPS-New Beginning", BSP, ITN, the four independent deputies and one from the APS, reporter Maria Fileva reported.

With the amendments, the special manager receives the right to sell the company's assets, mortgage them and pledge them. His acts are not subject to judicial and administrative control. It is planned that the special manager will be appointed by the Council of Ministers.

The managers proposed editorial amendments before the vote. They were not published on the National Assembly's website, and the deputies received them printed on paper in the hall. This outraged the opposition. PP leader Asen Vassilev stated: "These corrections are a de facto rewriting of the entire law.

The Vazrazhdane party will attack the changes before the Constitutional Court.
