A month before officially opening its 23rd ski season, Bansko has been ranked among the 25 best winter destinations in the world. The 16-week online competition featured 211 resorts from five continents. More than 4.3 million people from over 143 countries and locations took part in the voting on the website worldskiawards.com.

The small mountain town in the Pirin Mountains ranked among the four places in the world to have won a full set of 13 awards in the 13 editions of the World Ski Awards. The winter resort beneath Mount Todorka has dominated the competition since 2013 — a distinction shared only by Kitzbühel (Austria), Val Thorens (France) — which was named the World’s Best Ski resort for the 10th time — and Deer Valley (USA), reported the website pirinsko.com.

''Bansko offers excellent winter sports conditions for all age groups and for all individual abilities. A team of professionals maintains the slopes at a world-class level with the help of about 400 snow guns and 20 snowcats. Bansko has hosted numerous Alpine Skiing World Cups and Snowboarding World Cups. In summer the guests of Bansko can climb, play mini golf or football, cycle or go down the longest inflatable water slide in Europe with a length of 400 meters. Bansko offers a rich cultural program all year round: the Bansko International Jazz Festival, Bansko Opera Fest, International Mountain Cinema Festival and many folklore and cultural events'',  wrote worldskiawards.com.
