The twenty-first season of “Bulgarian Concert Evenings in New York” opened with a concert at the Consulate General of Bulgaria in the American city, the diplomatic mission announced on its Facebook page. The first piece that the audience enjoyed was “Sevdana” by Georgi Zlatev-Cherkin.
Consul General Angel Angelov welcomed the guests and said that along with the large number of festive events and concerts in recent months, the Bulgarian community in the metropolis has also said last goodbye to two beloved and respected people – engineer and admirer of classical music and Bulgarian culture Ted Popov and opera singer Stefka Evstatieva.
Angelov recalled the contribution of these exceptional compatriots to the community, including to the Bulgarian Concert Evenings in New York, and called on the guests to mark their memory with a minute of silence.
