Employees in the agriculture and forestry sector staged a protest in front of the Parliament, demanding higher salaries for workers in departments that are secondary budget administrators. The protest was organized by the National Federation of Agriculture and Forestry of the Confederation of Labor Podkrepa.

Salaries for employees at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Environment and Water are around 1,500–1,700 leva (EUR 766-EUR 869), which is very low considering the skilled work they perform, said the federation’s chairperson, Anelia Ivanova.
