Kaloyan Mahlyanov Kotooshu is already a Japanese citizen. The 30-year-old sumo wrestler has received Japanese citizenship and now has the opportunity to become a coach. This is the reason that made Mahlianov abandon his Bulgarian citizenship, adopting the surname of his wife - Ando. Kotoosho made his breakthrough in Japanese sumo in November 2002. Since November 2005 by the end of 2013 he carried the title of "odzeki," the second highest in the sumo hierarchy. In May 2008 he won the Cup of the Emperor, becoming the first European to win the most prestigious trophy in the ancient Japanese sport. He has no license to coach yet but as a former "odzeki" he can work as a mentor for three years after the end of his career as a wrestler.
