Bank deposits of Bulgarian households up, loans down

The Bulgarian National Bank has said that at the end of February 2016 deposits of the non-governmental sector in the Bulgarian banking system were to the tune of 63.947 billion leva /32.88 billion euro/ or 70.4% of the GDP equal to an annual growth of 8.3%. In the meantime, bank deposits of households and the non-profit organizations that service them amounted to 42.902 billion leva /22 billion euro/ or 47.3% of GDP tantamount to an annual growth of 6.7%. For the same period bank loans of the two categories of bank customers saw an annual decrease of 2% and 1.7% respectively.
