Energy liberalization and diversification of natural gas suppliers remain a priority for Bulgaria, Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev has said at his meeting in Sofia with the European Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager. The president has said that Bulgaria works actively for the cause of better energy connectivity in Southeastern Europe and is grateful for European Commission support. In general estimates, the liberalization of the energy sector will contribute to cutting prices paid end customers. Rosen Plevneliev has thanked for the 1 billion euro loan released to Bulgaria for renovation of housing blocks in Bulgaria aimed at energy efficiency, and has added that 250,000 Bulgarians have already benefited from European solidarity in this sphere.
