Bulgarian President Rossen Plevneliev was awarded the highest state order of Slovenia - the Order for Exceptional Merits for his contribution to a peaceful, democratic and European development of the region and because of his work aimed at strengthening cooperation between Bulgaria and Slovenia and at strengthening ties within the European Union. Rossen Plevneliev is on an official visit to Slovenia at the invitation of his counterpart Borut Pahor.
