Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva met with her Montenegro counterpart Srdjan Darmanović in Podgorica. Minister Zaharieva has assured Srdjan Darmanović that Sofia would work towards Montenegro’s quick accession into the European Union with the conviction that the European project would not be complete without the membership of the countries from the Western Balkans. Minister Zaharieva told her counterpart Darmanović that experts from Montenegro’s state administration can go under training in Sofia and that Bulgarian experts can help that country close some negotiation chapters with the EU. The two Ministers also agreed that Bulgaria and Montenegro should deepen bilateral relations in economy, tourism and defense fields. Minister Srdjan Darmanović voiced expectations that Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov would soon visit Montenegro.
