Over 200 applications are being received daily under the “I Choose Bulgaria” project, aimed at Bulgarians abroad for their permanent settlement in the country, Social Minister Borislav Gutsanov said. In the first day, 420 applications were submitted, BTA recalls.
According to the minister, over the years there has been much talking about the return of our compatriots, but now real steps are being taken by allocating financial resources in the amount of 13.2 million euro, which, if necessary, will be increased. According to him, the project is useful not only for the economy of the country, but also supports efforts to address the demographic crisis.
Borislav Gutsanov also spoke about his meeting with Bulgarians in New York who have shown interest in “I Choose Bulgaria”. “We did not expect that people would be so willing to apply for this program,” he said.
