The Republic of Turkey is ready to cooperate with Bulgaria in the energy sphere, in order to guarantee energy security, Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak said during the meeting with Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov and Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova within the frameworks of his one-day visit to Bulgaria. Minister Albayrak greeted Premier Borissov and Minister Petkova on occasion of Bulgaria’s National Unification Day. Bulgaria and Turkey will fulfill joint projects that will guarantee security of the gas supplies and competitive prices for the industry and the households, it became clear during the meeting. Minister Albayrak got acquainted with Bulgaria’s idea about a Balkan gas hub project which has to be fulfilled in line with the EU legislation. Minister Petkova reminded that the modernization and the expansion of the Bulgarian gas transferring network continues, which will boost Bulgaria’s gas transit capacity.
