Bulgaria’s GDP has gone up in the third quarter of 2017 by 0.9 percent compared to the previous three months, registering a 3.9 percent year-on-year rise, National Statistical Institute data indicate.
The National Statistical Institute data on a yearly basis have also remained unrevised, marking a 3.9 percent economic growth, after the 3.7 increase in the April-June period. This is the best economic growth rate since the end of 2016, when the GDP marked a 4 percent increase year-on-year. The data from the third quarter correspond to the European Commission's autumn forecast which put Bulgaria’s GDP growth rate for this year at 3.9 percent – a far cry from the EC’s spring forecast of 2.9 percent.
