Bulgaria marks today the 105th anniversary of the Edirne Epopee and the Day of Thrace, paying respect to the fight of Bulgarians in Thrace for freedom and unity with the homeland. The capture of Edirne by the Bulgarian Army in 1913 was a decisive victory that led to the end of the Balkan War.

The destruction, persecution and ruin of the Thracian Bulgarians is a bitter lesson that should not be forgotten, President Rumen Radev said. He took part in the solemn worship of Thrace Day and 105 years of the Edirne Epopee.
