Bulgaria top of the list in EU in number of road deaths

European Commission spokesperson Enrico Brivio stated, in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio, that though a 4 percent drop in fatal incidents was registered in 2017, Bulgaria continues as top of the list of EU countries in the number of road deaths.

The main cause are the old cars, the undeveloped road network and the poor driving culture. Statistics show an improvement in data regarding pedestrians and cyclists, but with motor vehicles, the number of fatalities involving drivers is extraordinarily high, Enrico Brivio said.
