Over 20 people including the Chairman of the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad Petar Haralampiev were arrested in the frameworks of a special anti-corruption operation. The operation is based on information about bribery, forgery of documents and malfeasance. Special prosecutors and anti-corruption agents raided offices in Sofia, Kyustendil and Pleven. Intermediaries who were offering Bulgarian passports to Macedonian, Ukrainian and Moldovan nationals without Bulgarian roots are also among the detainees.
