Bulgaria to claim damages from Gazprom Export

Gazprom Export has officially informed Bulgaria that as of January 2020 it intends to terminate the transit of gas along the Trans-Balkan corridor to Turkey.

Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova has confirmed the receipt of a letter to that effect, and Bulgaria reserves the right to apply to a court of arbitration for the transit fees, payable to Bulgaria up until 2030. Minister Petkova states that Sofia will take such a step if the second TurkStream pipeline does not pass through Bulgaria.
