Bulgaria among the countries with lowest life expectancy in EU

The average life expectancy for men in Bulgaria is 71.4 years and the average life expectancy for women in this country is 78.4 years. Bulgaria, together with Latvia where the average female life expectancy is 74.9 years, is the EU country with lowest life expectancy, the National Statistical Institute announced. The average life expectancy in the cities is 2.9 years higher (75.7 years) than in the Bulgarian villages (72.8 years). Spain is the EU country with highest life expectancy- 83.4 years, followed by Italy-83.1 years.
