Twenty five-year-old Bulgarian has died in accident in Mount Olympus

A twenty five-year-old Bulgarian, who was severely injured yesterday during the ascent of Mount Olympus in Greece, has passed away despite the efforts of the Greek medics to save his life. The man was hospitalized in the Military Hospital of Thessaloniki with a severe brain injury. The accident happened at an altitude of 2.300 meters above sea level. The Greek Emergency and Rescue Service reacted immediately and sent firemen and a helicopter to the place of the incident. The injured Bulgarian was taken to hospital by a helicopter in a very bad condition. According to local mountaineers, the region of Kofto, where the accident with the Bulgarian mountaineer took place, is very dangerous and is suitable for very well-trained mountaineers only.
