Bulgarian Mariya Gabriel is part of the new European Commission

The President-elect of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen has approved the list of 27 EU Commissioners in the new European Commission. Mariya Gabriel will be Bulgaria’s representative at the new EC. Ursula von der Leyen is expected to announce the portfolios of each Commissioner tomorrow. Later, the European parliament has to approve the members of the new European Commission. Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov voiced confidence that Bulgaria will receive a modern portfolio and that the financing under this country’s new portfolio will be at least three times higher than the current portfolio of Commissioner Gabriel- Digital Economy and Society.
