Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov meets with EU Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis

The African swine fever is not only a regional, but also a global problem, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov commented at a meeting with the EU Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis. In Premier Borissov’s words, the disease brings enormous losses to the affected and can affect entire economies and trade partnerships. Premier Borissov voiced hopes that soon the European Commission will start reimbursing the costs Bulgaria made to deal with various animal diseases. Boyko Borissov noted that so far the Bulgarian authorities have allotted over EUR 13 million to combat African swine fever.
