Three Russian nationals charged with attempted murder of businessman Emilian Gebrev

Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s Office indicted three Russian citizens in connection with the assassination attempt of businessman Emilian Gebrev, his son Hristo and a commercial director of Emko company in 2015. The prosecution has issued European arrest warrants for each defendant. The persons are wanted in the Schengen Information System. A red notice in Interpol was also issued. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the assassination attempt was made through intoxication with unidentified substance of organophosphorus character. Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the Bulgarian authorities to cooperate with the Russian law enforcement authorities in connection with the charges pressed against three Russian nationals.
