Bulgaria’s trade with EU up, with non-EU countries down

In February 2020, Bulgaria’s exports to the EU increased by 4.4% as compared to the same month last year, the National Statistical Institute announced. Meanwhile, imports from the European Union saw a 4.9% increase year on year. Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, Belgium and France were the main importers of Bulgarian goods. On the other hand, Germany, Romania, Italy and the Netherlands were the biggest exporters to Bulgaria. In January 2020, Bulgaria’s exports to non-EU countries fell with 2.3% and imports decreased by 6.6% as compared to January 2019.
