IMF forecasts Bulgaria's GDP growth to shrink by 4% for 2020

After a registered growth of 3.4% in 2019, Bulgaria's gross domestic product will shrink by 4.0% in 2020 before it rises by 6% in 2021. These are projected figures by the International Monetary Fund presenting the organization's spring forecasts for the global economy, which are highly declined because of the Covid-19 crisis. 
The IMF expects that consumer inflation in Bulgaria will slow from 2.5% in 2019 to 1.0% in 2020, then rise by 1.9% in 2021. Unemployment will double to 8.0% after 4.2% in 2019. For 2021. unemployment is expected to return to 4.5%.
