Bansko resort will request financial assistance from the government

Bulgaria’s mountain resort Bansko will request EUR 1.2 million from the government due to a serious budget deficit. The winter season in the resort was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. Budget revenues fell with 13% due to the fourteen-day full quarantine and the fact that the tourism sector has not been functioning for over three months. Unemployment in Bansko soared to 18%.
