Casinos and gambling halls to be allowed only in 5 star hotels, in national resorts and in settlements up to 20 km from the state border. This is proposed in a bill against gambling addiction by the deputy speaker of parliament and leader of one of the parties in the ruling coalition, Valeri Simeonov.

The listed tourist complexes are: "Albena", "Golden Sands", "Saints Constantine and Elena”, “Elenite”, “Sunny Beach”,“Duni”,“MMC – Primorsko”, “Pamporovo”, “Borovets” and the town of Bansko. The deadline for closing the other gambling establishments is until 2025. The proposal is in line with the practice of the European Court of Justice that restrictions on gambling activities are permissible.
