The EC has given its approval to Bulgaria to support medium-sized business affected by Covid-19 with 102m euros.
A statement from the European Commission reads that the measure was necessary, appropriate and proportionate. Part of the financing (87 million euros) comes from the European Regional Development Fund, and the companies will receive directly and gratuitously up to 75,000 euros. There is no restriction on their activities, except for initial production and processing of agricultural products, fishing, aquaculture, forestry, financial services and gambling. The funds will be allocated before December 31 to about 1,500 companies.
