Senior officials in the Presidential administration have been detained in Bulgaria

President Radev’s Advisor on Security and Defense Iliya Milushev was taken into 24 hour custody. A person with initials M.K who worked at the State Intelligence Agency was also detained. Initially, Iliya Milushev was interrogated as witness. Documents that were illegally taken from the State Intelligence Agency containing information regarded as government secret were found in his phone and in his cabinet. The supervising prosecutors will decide whether to press charges against the detainees. There are two other people in the pre-trial proceedings- persons with initials P.V and A.Z who have been placed under house arrest. President Radev’s Secretary on Legal Affairs and Anti-corruption Plamen Uzunov was also detained in connection with investigation into trading in influence.
