CITUB: Bulgarians want decent life in their country, not abroad

One of the biggest trade unions in Bulgaria- the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) has backed the demands of the protesters. The syndicate points out that the problems which have not been solved for years and have been exacerbated due to the Covid-19 crisis are at the root of public discontent.  “Unfair privatization in the years of transition gave huge advantages to selected elite and doomed the majority of people to poverty. Despite the two-digit growth of salaries registered in the recent years, incomes in Bulgaria remain the lowest in the EU. Bulgarians want decent life and future in their country, not abroad”, the position of CITUB reads. Depopulation of entire regions in Bulgaria and migration towards the big cities cause huge territorial disproportions and new social, environmental and economic problems, the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria further points out.
