The anti-government protests in Bulgaria are into their 40th day after GERB party submitted a draft of a new constitution to the National Assembly. The three blockades in the centre of Sofia continue – at Eagle’s Bridge, in the space between the Presidency building and the Council of Ministers, and at Sofia University. The traditional evening protest starts at 7 PM.
A national nurses’ protest started in front of the Health Ministry building at 6 PM. The nurses say that the authorities are absolutely neglecting medical professionals in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic. They are demanding better working conditions and higher pay.
Earlier today protesters from BOEC civil movement briefly blocked the main entrance of the Ministry of Justice, again demanding the resignation of the government and of the prosecutor general.
