At a joint meeting, the BSP leadership and the BSP for Bulgaria Parliamentary Group unanimously expressed their support for the nearly two-month-long protests of Bulgarian citizens demanding the resignation of the government and Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev, BNT has reported.

"We call on socialists and supporters of the BSP to take an active part in the protest on September 2 at 8 am in front of the National Assembly, as well as to continue their participation in the protests across the country," the Bulgarian Socialist Party said in a statement.

The national protest will take place on the first day of parliament's work after its summer vacation.
