Anti-government protests in Bulgaria are into their 60th day

On Unification Day the protests demanding the resignation of the government and of Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev continue in Bulgaria for the 60th day.

No intersections are currently blocked by protesters. However, a relay marathon is taking place and traffic around Vassil Levski national stadium in the centre of Sofia is restricted.

Last night the protesters once again temporarily blocked traffic along Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. and Eagles’ Bridge, after which traffic was restored.

The organizers of the protests are calling for volunteers to coordinate the protests around the country.
