Haskovo Jazz festival – intriguing programme with an international line-up

The 24th edition of Haskovo Jazz (23-26 September) is dedicated to the free spirit of foremost Bulgarian jazz pianist and composer Milcho Leviev who died in October 2019.

The special guests at the festival include Dominik Fuss – trumpet, flugelhorn, and Jörg Leichtfried – piano. One of the festival’s great friends – famous jazz singer Vassil Petrov performed together with the Jordan Tonovski trio. The line-up also featured the young Bulgarian formation The Swinging Sparrows with members Veleka Tsankova – vocals, Arnau Garrofé Farràs – saxophone, Stefan Goranov – percussion etc.

Music by Milcho Leviev was performed by Vicky Almazidu – vocals, Alexander Vassev – piano, Todor Bakardjiev – trumpet, Vassil Hadjigrudev – double bass, and Stefan Goranov – percussion. Two Men Orchestra, with jazz vocalist Vesela Morova will play on the last day of the festival, and Groove Tribe will close the event.
