Deputy PM Karakachanov: Trust in North Macedonia is lost

“The bilateral agreement between Bulgaria and North Macedonia is not being observed by the Macedonian side. Trust is lost,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Krasimirm Karakachanov.

In a Ministry of Defence position, Minister Karakachanov notes the efforts by Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva and Germany, which holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU, to bring he positions of the Bulgarian and the Macedonian sides closer.

“I support the principal findings by the Bulgarian foreign minister that the bilateral agreement is not being observed by the Macedonian side, especially with regard to achieving any progress in the work of the bilateral historical commission,” says Krasimir Karakachanov.
