Decarbonisation is a great opportunity for Europeans. But decarbonisation policies also involve a number of risks - social, economic, political, Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev said at an online conference on the topic of "Climate Policy and the Green Deal - Challenges and Opportunities".

"Energy transition" and the "green transition" are big topics in regions with concentration of electricity production from coal. Therefore, the European Commission has proposed 3 pilot areas that will be subject to targeted support from the Just Transition Fund. These are the districts of Pernik, Kyustendil and Stara Zagora, Donchev said.
