Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has met with Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selaković, who is on an official visit to Sofia. "Our relations with Serbia have always been friendly and pragmatic," PM Borissov said.
The two discussed key projects such as the Europe motorway, the Balkan Stream gas pipeline and the start of construction of the Bulgaria-Serbia interconnector. It would enable Serbia to receive gas from the Alexandroupolis terminal, BTA reported. Bulgarian support for Serbia's European path was also pointed out at the meeting.
"Progress is possible only on the basis of a country’s own achievements in fulfilling the criteria," PM Borissov added.
Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva also met with Nikola Selakovic. Selakovic and Zaharieva agreed to work actively to further boost relations between business and people through improved infrastructure, joint projects and frank and pragmatic dialogue at all levels. In their view, tourism is one of the most promising sectors for bilateral co-operation, given the increased number of travels in both countries in recent years.
