Bulgarian Minister of Social Affairs Denitsa Sacheva believes that some of the protests that have been organized recently are already an element of the election campaign. Minister Sacheva has clarified that this does not apply to the protest of the restaurateurs, BTA reported.
According to the minister, people feel discriminated against because schools, gyms and malls reopen, and they want the same. But the assessment of health authorities, which is the most important during pandemic, is that they should be opened in March. The minister added that the decision was difficult for the government as well, because it meant additional 35 million euros in compensation measures for employees in the industry. Some protesters announced that despite the ban, they would open the establishments on February 1st.
