More than 1 million residents of Sofia can vote at the forthcoming Parliamentary elections on April 4. GERB party has been winning elections in Bulgaria’s capital for over 10 years now. The capital city creates 40% of Bulgaria’s gross domestic product. Migration to Sofia continues due to factors such as high incomes, high living standard and low unemployment.

Residents of Sofia expect higher pensions and better opportunities for the young families after the Parliamentary elections. They also expect a more even development of the central area and the periphery. The traffic organization must undergo changes because of the big traffic congestions and polluted air, the residents of Bulgaria’s capital told reporters of the Bulgarian National Radio.
