Bulgaria is top of the list in income distribution inequality in the EU, with a more than eight-fold gap between the incomes of the poorest and the richest people in the country, indicate latest Eurostat data for 2020.
Lyuboslav Kostov, economic expert at the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria commented, for the BNR’s Horizont channel that until a few years ago the income gap between the poorest and the richest was 6-7 fold.
