Bulgaria has voted against the UN resolution adopted last week for an international investigation over violations related to the recent violence in the Gaza Strip, as well as over "systematic" abuses in the Palestinian territories and inside Israel, BGNES reported. A list published on Twitter shows that no European country has voted in favor of the investigation. In addition to Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and Great Britain also voted against the investigation. Today, the Israeli ambassador to Sofia, Yoram Elron, thanked Bulgaria for being one of the few countries that voted against the decision.

The UN Human Rights Council supported the resolution by a majority of 24 to 9 votes. 14 of the 47 member abstained.
