Bulgaria’s caretaker cabinet: Billions of euros were distributed without public procurement procedures

Photo: BGNES

In the past 2 years, state-owned companies paid about 4.4 billion euros to subcontractors for construction without public procurement procedures. Bulgarian caretaker Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev said that this practice would be terminated with changes in the regulations. Already signed construction agreements, including the one for the construction of the Hemus highway, will continue to be fulfilled, BNR reporter Tsvetelina Stoyanova informed.
