Airlines for passenger transport will not receive state aid, although the updated budget envisages a target of 30 million euros, the chairman of the Bulgarian Aviation Industry Association Todor Ivandzhikov has told BNR.

According to him, the criteria have been changed between the two readings of the law and just few airlines will benefit from the aid. "The rearrangement of the market is in favor of low-cost international carriers, which is to the detriment of both the Bulgarian airlines and the treasury, as foreign companies do not pay taxes in this country," he said. According to him, the losses equal millions of euros and they affect passenger transport companies the most. Two out of 17 have already returned their licenses because they can not cope with the situation.
