Two MiG-29s from Graf Ignatievo air base in Bulgaria and two F-16s from from the Fetesti air base in Romania successfully completed their air policing mission today.

This took place during the Bulgarian-Romanian air force exercise Blue Bridge 2021, the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence has announced. The role of “trespassing” aircraft was played by a Spartan C-27J military transport aircraft from Bulgaria's Vrazhdebna air base. The Romanian F-16s carried out the mission of intercepting, escorting and forcing the Spartan to land in Romania, after which the scenario was played out of escorting and delivering the Spartan by the Romanian to the Bulgarian fighter aircraft.
