Schools to remain closed until protection of children's health is guaranteed

Since the beginning of the school year, Covid cases among students have doubled. There were up to 500 infected children a day in the past week. That is why distance learning has been introduced, the Minister of Education Prof. Nikolay Denkov has told BNR.

According to the minister, in order for students to return to the classrooms, testing of children in schools must be introduced, something that parents are currently disputing. Education will be online, until the school becomes a safe place, Denkov warned.

Society needs to realize that we are in a crisis that requires unpopular measures. "The only unpopular measure that still protects us from a complete lockdown is the green certificate," the minister added.
