Taxi drivers have gone out on a protest in Sofia demanding a raise in tariffs for passenger transport. They say they cannot maintain their cars and take care of their families due to low fares. Many of them have been forced to stop working. Their request is that the tariffs of 77 stotinki (0.39 euros) per km during the day and 87 stotinki (0.44 euros) at night should become 1.15 leva (0.59 euros) during the day and 1.32 leva (0.67 euros) at night.

Later, the National Taxi Drivers Union set up a protest tent camp in front of the Ministry of Transport, demanding the resignation of the director of the Automobile Administration Agency, Boyko Ranovski, over his inability to cope with the high share of the gray sector in the industry.
